The developments in the field of nano-additives have increased recent years due to desire reduce level exhaust emissions diesel engines. soot characteristics particulate matter (PM) and nitrogen oxides (NOX) were experimentally investigated using two concentrations titanium dioxide (TiO2) as (25 ppm 40 ppm) blended with C20D (composed 20% castor oil methyl ester 80% fuel) 30% gas recirculation (EGR). combustion + TiO2 increases brake thermal efficiency (BTE) by 2.8% comparison neat C20D, while a significant reduction was obtained BSFC 6.5% NOX maintained at parallel diesel. results indicated that technique involving high EGR rate addition 25 nanoparticles exhibits better reductions 17.34% 21.83%, respectively, compared comprising use C20D. total concentration PM via 26.74% greater than In contrast, incorporation +TiO2 16.85% without EGR. Performance and Emissions of a Tractor engine operating on biodiesel-diesel blends with EGR
The influences of different diesel/biodiesel blends and EGR rate on brake specific fuel consumption (BSFC), exhaust gas temperature, NO, HC, CO emissions, are studied and demonstrated. In this paper a four stroke direct injection, water cooled, diesel engine was used. Biodiesel either in neat form or as a blend with diesel fuel is extensively investigated to solve the twin problem of reduction ...
متن کاملEvaluate the effect of biodiesel and EGR system on diesel engine emissions
Vehicle Emission is one of the main causes of environmental damage. Vehicle engines produce carbon dioxide (CO2), hydrocarbon (HC), Nitrogen oxides (NOx) and many other harmful substances. An investigation was conducted using a compression-ignition engine fuelled with different ratios of blends of diesel and biodiesel at different EGR rates. The effects of different ratios of fuel blends and EG...
متن کاملThree-Dimensional Modeling of Combustion Process, Soot and NOx formation In a Direct-injection Diesel Engine
This paper is presented to study the combustion process and emissions in a direct injection diesel engine. Computations are carried out using a three-dimensional model for flows, sprays, combustion and emissions in Diesel engines. Interactions between combustion and emissions with flow field are considered and it is shown that soot mass fraction increases at regions with low turbulence inten...
متن کاملDiesel Engine Performance and Exhaust Emissions Using Cottonseed Oil Biodiesel
Non-road diesel engines are significant contributors to air pollution in the United States (USEPA, 2004). These engines emit particulate matter (PM), nitrogen oxides (NOx), sulfur dioxide (SO2), and other pollutants. The Clean Air Non-road Diesel Rule was put in place to reduce emission levels from agricultural, construction, and industrial diesel powered equipment. This rule calls for a reduct...
